The Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin met with Vice-President of the European Commission on Energy Union maroš Šefčovič, during which the sides discussed energy cooperation between Ukraine and the EU.
As reported Monday evening, the press service of the Ukrainian foreign Ministry, during the meeting, in particular the two sides discussed “the progress of the reform of the energy sector of Ukraine, countering the politically motivated construction of gas pipelines bypassing Ukraine, including the project “North stream 2″, and the involvement of the EU and European companies with the aim of preserving the transit role of Ukraine.”
Following the meeting, agreement was reached on further contacts with the aim of ensuring energy security of Ukraine and the EU.
