Head of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine Yury Terentyev says, is in business trip in Washington for the approval of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of foreign Affairs and is willing to provide law enforcement agencies with all necessary information.

And the Antimonopoly Committee will continue to carry out their tasks on the basis of, in particular, the laws “On the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine” and “On protection of economic competition”,” – said Terentyev.
He added that the AMC is an independent body with special status.
“The special status law is the special procedure for the appointment of the head of the Committee and the state commissioners as well as in special procedural principles of the activities of the authority. Decisions are made collectively, and the size of the potential penalties has only an upper limit of 10% of the annual revenue of the entity. When the amount of the fine takes into account a number of objective factors that affect the final actual amount of the penalty,” – said the head of the AMC.
He also commented on investigations related to the case company “Tedis Ukraine”.
“December 16, 2016, after investigation and long consideration of the matter at the Committee meeting, it was decided in the case of abuse of dominance, OOO “Tedis Ukraine”. After the penalty imposed on “Gazprom” is the largest fine in the history of the Committee – 431 million UAH. As at present, the fine is not paid, because “Tedis Ukraine” appealed the Committee’s decision to the commercial court. 16 March 2017 was the first meeting (plaintiff represents Barash M. J. on behalf of the law firm),” – said Terentyev.
“During the period of investigation the AMCU has repeatedly appealed to the state authorities, law enforcement agencies and entities to obtain complete information that could help in the investigation. In particular, information on beneficial owners “Megapolis/Tedis”. The typical response is “information not available”. If she came, will be grateful to law enforcement for its provision”, he added.
In this regard, Terentyev stressed that he is ready to personally provide comments.

In turn, the Minister of internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov called for the resignation of the leadership of the Antimonopoly Committee in connection with the situation around the revelations of the scheme of evasion from payment of taxes and withdrawal of large sum of money including terrorism financing, through the company LLC “Megapolis Ukraine” (now – “Tedis Ukraine”).
