Foreign Minister of France Jean-Marc Ayrault during a telephone conversation with Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stressed the importance of compliance with the ceasefire by all parties to the conflict in the East of Ukraine, reads a communiqué issued by the French foreign Ministry.
“The French Minister noted the importance for all parties to respect the ceasefire and withdraw heavy weaponry,” the document says.
It also States that “the two Ministers agreed to intensify work within the framework of the “Norman” format, in order to achieve implementation of the Minsk agreements, while the situation in the zone of conflict remains worrisome”.
Earlier it was reported that the President of the United States Donald trump and German Chancellor Angela Merkel discussed the situation in Ukraine.
