In Romania, after numerous protests and the resignation of the Minister of justice, Florin Iordache, the initiator of legislative initiative offering to cancel criminal punishment for the medium-sized and corrupt. About it reports “Russian Service of BBC”, transfers “112 Ukraine”.

A decree according to which officials are exempt from criminal liability for corruption if the damage does not exceed 200 thousand lei (47.5 us dollars), the government of Romania issued in late January.

After that in Bucharest and other cities began mass protests – such a mass of civil actions Romania has not seen since the fall of the Communist regime in 1989. The protesters not only opposed the decree, but also demanded the resignation of the government as a whole.

The national anti-corruption office stated that changes such as the fight against corruption will have no value.

On 5 February, the government of Romania, headed by Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu cancelled the decree on the decriminalization convicted of corruption. However, gathered in Victoria square about 600 thousand protesters demanded the resignation of the government.
