The head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on foreign Affairs Anna hopko hopes that the Verkhovna Rada at the plenary session on Wednesday will ratify the Agreement on free trade between Ukraine and Canada. She stated this during the round table on “the free trade Agreement with Canada”.
“We hope that Wednesday will be a positive signal and we will see in the hall that it will be the political will (to ratify the Agreement on free trade – Ed.)”, said hopko.
The representative of the President of Ukraine in the Verkhovna Rada Arthur Gerasimov assured that the ratification of this agreement will vote, more than 300 people’s deputies.
However, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Canada, Andriy Shevchenko during the inclusion of Skype noted that, in accordance with the procedures of the canadian Parliament, the lower chamber may generally ratify the agreement in late February or March, after which there will pass procedure of ratification in the Senate.
According to Shevchenko, there are chances that in the spring of 2017 the free trade Agreement between Canada and Ukraine will be ratified by the canadian Parliament.
Recall, as told by the sales representative of Ukraine Natalia Mykolska, the current performance of esporta in Canada do not reflect the potential of Ukraine.
“If we are talking about the abolition of duties, we have a big wish that within 5 years we went to figures to 10 times larger than it is now. For 11 months in 2016, the exports from Ukraine to Canada amounted to 26.2 million dollars, which does not reflect our potential,” she said during the “round table” in Parliament.
