The US President Donald trump said that Washington will continue its efforts to ensure peace in the area of Ukrainian-Russian border, said on Sunday the White house.
“We will work with Ukraine, Russia and all stakeholders to help them to restore peace along the border,” said D. trump in a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, according to the message circulated by the White house.
It also States that the parties discussed the possibility of a personal meeting in the near future.
The administration Poroshenko, for his part, informed that during the meeting special attention was paid to the settlement of the situation in the Donbass.
“The parties expressed deep concern over the escalation of tensions and deterioration of the humanitarian situation, particularly in the area of Avdeevka. The leaders noted the urgency of establishing a regime of complete ceasefire”, – stated in the press service on the official website of the President of Ukraine.
Conversation of D. trump and Poroshenko lasted over an hour. As reported on his page on Facebook press Secretary of the Ukrainian Svyatoslav Tsegolko, the parties also “discussed the issue of strengthening the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the USA”.
