In the Administration of the President of Ukraine in favour of maintaining and tightening sanctions against the aggressor country of Russia. This was stated by Deputy head of the presidential administration Konstantin Eliseev.
“There is a proven way how to stop (the escalation of the conflict) in the Donbass, in particular in the town, and to protect from further escalation of violence is to strengthen sanctions against the aggressor. After all, Russia and Russian-backed militants fomenting violence in the region,” he said.

31 January was held a meeting of the UN Security Council, where its members called for the immediate return of the ceasefire in the East of Ukraine. They condemned the use of weapons prohibited by the accords on the line of contact.
Also that day the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has held a meeting with heads of law enforcement agencies of Ukraine on the situation in Avdeevka. The President called on international partners to respond to the escalation of the conflict in the Donbas and reported on the humanitarian situation in the region.
On 1 February, despite the reached agreements on ceasefire in area of Avdeevka group of repairmen was fired by militants.
