The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko plans to complete pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings on treason, ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych in February 2017.
“We plan to pull the pretrial investigation, in February we will hold final required interrogation and examination. After that the case will be referred to the court and I am sure that the Ukrainian court will put an end to this issue. … I hope for the integrity of lawyers, i.e. in February we finish the investigation, a short introduction and the beginning of the trial. We will do everything not to make it faster and to make it qualitatively,” he said in an interview with TV channel “1+1” on Sunday evening.
He also reminded that the Ukrainian law enforcement authorities obtained a photocopy of the statement of Yanukovych from 1 March 2014. asking you to enter Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine that, in his opinion, is irrefutable proof of treason.
