Starobilsk district court of Lugansk region extended the head of fraction of Party of regions in the Verkhovna Rada of the previous convocation Oleksandr Yefremov the measure of restraint in form of detention before 17 March.
The corresponding decision was taken at a meeting of the court Tuesday at the request of prosecutors.
As you know, January 16, 2017 Starobilsk court began a preliminary hearing on the case of Ephraim. It was decided to give the defendant free counsel in the absence of his lawyers. Yefremov refused, but the court has satisfied the corresponding petition of the accused. Therefore, at a meeting on Tuesday the lawyer was present.
The next meeting in Starobilsk will be held on January 24.
At the same time, 17 January the Kyiv court of Appeals had to consider the complaint of lawyers of A. Efremov on the previous extension of the term of arrest of the Pechersky district court in Kyiv on January 22. But the meeting was postponed in respect of non-delivery of Ephraim to the court. The appeal hearing is now scheduled for January 20.
