Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin believes that Ukraine could not assist North Korea with missile program, and called for international investigation to determine who is involved in this. He said this in comments to The New York Times, reports UNN.
The comment followed shortly after the American edition published the article “Tracing the Success of North Korea to Ukraine Plant” (“Tracking the success of North Korea to the Ukrainian factory”).
According to him, Ukraine has not helped North Korea with missile program, despite what the article says about the use of North Koreans engine RD-250, which was allegedly designed in Russia, but also drops a hint on participation of Ukraine.
“No evidence to support such claims was not. As Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine and trained Aerophysical, I want to say that my country could not participate in providing assistance to the missile program of North Korea”, – said Klimkin.

He reminded that the production of this type of missiles in Ukraine ended in 1992.
“The examination could not be held in the heads of scientists-villains. These instructions are included in comprehensive manuals are locked in highly-classified subject matter protected by our security forces. Not only for criminals, it would be virtually impossible to access these instructions, but no efforts could go unnoticed by our government,” – said the Minister, commenting on the allusions to the leak of technology from Ukraine.

At the same time, he believes that the DPRK would not have achieved the current success of the missile without outside support.
“But I doubt that North Korea could achieve what she did without help. Now the global community must come together to conduct an international investigation to determine who is responsible for this”, – said Klimkin.
We will remind, recently the foreign media, particularly The New York Times, published the data of the survey, which allowed for the possibility that the alleged Ukrainian factory “Pivdenmash” (Dnepr) involved in the transfer of missile technology to North Korea.
In turn, the NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov said that Ukraine always adheres to all its international obligations, therefore the enterprises of the Ukrainian defense and aerospace complex were supplied arms and military technology to North Korea.
