Ukraine should actively develop airports and make them low-cost airline. This was stated by Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman.
“We need to have low-cost airlines, both in Central and regional airports, so we can develop the passenger traffic. Only the airport “Boryspil” this year will carry 10.5 million passengers. Is the growth of both Ukrainian and transit passengers. We have a huge potential in the development of our aircraft – and that we need to unite our efforts”, – said Groisman.
The Prime Minister also called for the speedy creation of strategy of development of airports of Ukraine.
“As you know, there were negotiations between the Boryspil airport and Ryanair, which are still, unfortunately, to no avail. Yesterday I held a meeting, which invited the Ministry of Infrastructure, the airports “Borispol” and “Zhulyany”, AMC – all who is related to aviation. I have only one conclusion: we need a strategy of development of Ukraine’s airports and aviation development. Because, by and large, every airport today is responsible for defining its place in the sun” – said Groisman.

According to him, it was assumed that such a strategy will be developed by September 2017.
“After this meeting we made a joint decision that we should accelerate this work. I think August would be good. So we saw on the map of Ukraine every airport – from “Borispol” to regional airports, as they develop,” – said Groisman.
We will remind, the Director of”Borispol” refused to sign an agreement with Irish airline Ryanair, citing excessive demands of the air carrier. Ryanair in response, refused to enter the Ukrainian market and said that “Borispol” has violated the agreementreached in March this year, the Ministry of Infrastructure with airport officials.
The Minister of infrastructure Vladimir Omelian already talked about the intention to dismiss the General Director of the airport “Borispol” Paul Ryabikina for the failure of the contract.
