Died Nobel prize in physics, Soviet and American physicist Alexei Abrikosov.

Apricots was the academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and a member of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States and the Royal society of London. In 1991, he moved to the USA where he taught at the University of Illinois and the University of Utah. In 1999, the year he took American citizenship.

In his research, the scientist discovered superconductors of the second type, and also opened the effect of linear quantum magnetic resistance. In 2003, Abrikosov together with Vitaly Ginzburg and James Leggett, received the Nobel prize for “fundamental work on the theory of superconductors and superfluid liquids”.
