Ukraine imported from enterprises that are temporarily controlled territories, to nine million tons of coal annually. One ton of such coal is treated in 1730 UAH, at the same time, according to the formula “Rotterdam+”, imported coal costs about 3000 UAH, said in a television broadcast, Deputy Prime Minister Pavlo Rozenko. This year Ukraine fully refused from coal from the so-called “DNR” and “LNR”. Now it will have to be purchased abroad.
According to the head of the national Commission Dmitry Vovk, in 2017 Ukraine imported 5.6 million tons. This is considerably less than last year. The consumption decreased after the government’s decision on the introduction of a state of emergency in the energy sector.
If used for electricity generation has spent 30 tons of anthracite per day, after the imposition of emergency the consumption was reduced to 20 thousand tons. In addition, generation would gradually switch from anthracite coal to coal of gas group. This, according to government estimates, will take two to two and a half years.
Even with coal from the so-called “DNR” Ukraine had to import anthracite. Last year, as reported by the State fiscal service, most of the coal Ukraine bought in Russia. So, 906 million dollars spent on Russian coal, 212 million dollars for coal from the United States and 94 million on imports from Canada.
Energy Minister Igor Nasalik has said that the Ministry is preparing a decree banning imports from Russia. “I will introduce at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers order no coal energy was not from Russia. Refers anthracite”, – the Minister said. At the same time Volodymyr Groysman suggested that our government will buy coal from the United States of America, Australia or South Africa. This decision will affect the cost of electricity generation.

A few weeks ago Pavlo Rozenko stated: if we abandon coal from the so-called “republics” and buy it only abroad, the electricity tariff for the population will increase by another 30%.
“If we want, and “blockade” is want we bought coal on foreign markets at a price “Rotterdam +” and paid the price for it above the three thousand, they should say that, as a consequence, the current price of electricity should grow by at least 30%,” — said Rozenko 16 February, the TV channel “112 Ukraine”.
Now if consumption more than 100 kWh each kWh of 1.68 is the hryvnia. If electricity will rise by 30%, each kWh will cost more than two hryvnia. The head of the tenants Union of Ukraine Alexander Skubchenko assumes the rate for the population can actually increase, but the electricity price will rise significantly – by 10-15%. “The planned increase of electricity ended. By the way, the national Commission has already decided to raise the wholesale market price (ORC) power by 1% from April. If at the moment, each MWh is 1341,5 of the hryvnia in the next month for this amount of electricity will have to pay 1354,9 hryvnia.
