Communal rising again: how many Ukrainians will have to pay the new rates

In Ukraine since the first of March is much more expensive light. According to the decision of the National Commission that performs state regulation in energy and utilities (NKREKU), is 71.4 cents per kWh, the Ukrainians will have to pay 90 cents. From the electricity tariff, as explained in the Commission’s tariff on cold water. The website “Segodnia” found out what, how and why the rise in price for Ukrainians.

From the first of March for the light have to pay in new ways

Ukrainians pay for electricity for the three rates: the consumption up to 100 kWh (71.4 cents), while the consumption from 100 to 600 kWh (129 cents), with consumption above 600 kWh (163,8 penny). From the first of March the consumption up to 100 kWh will have to pay 90 cents each kilowatt will cost 168 cents. A separate tariff for those who consume more than 600 kWh, will not.

For example, a family who spends every month 200 kWh of electricity, currently pay for electricity 258 USD. In March, for the same amount of energy will have to pay 336 USD.

Higher prices will also feel Ukrainians, which are used for water heating electric boiler. For example, to heat a cubic meter of water by boiler 80 litres will have to spend 46,25 kWh and pay per cubic meter of cold water.

To rise in price of heated boiler water cube is 73,3 hryvnia (at the same time, the rate “Kievenergo” – is 83.1 hryvnia per cubic meter), and after the price increase and 91.4 hryvnia (when using more than 100 kWh of electricity per month). That is to heat water a boiler would be more expensive than buying the hot water, “Kyivenergo”.

What’s more expensive:

  • Watch TV 1 hour, 64 cents to the price of 80 cents after
  • Read a book under the light of a Desk lamp for 1 hour to 12 cents to the price hike of 16 cents after
  • Spend an hour at the computer – 38 cents to the price of 50 cents after

However, to pay for electricity can be much less. The national Commission adopted a decision to sell the electricity from 23 PM to 7 am two times cheaper. This is done in order to encourage Ukrainians to use more electricity at night and shift the period of peak consumption, which accounts for morning, evening and weekend.

To light, consumed by the night, was considered under a separate tariff, you need to install a dual-zone meter for electricity. This meter installation will cost around 1400 USD. For example, a family that consumes 200 kWh of electricity and 25% of the world uses, from 23 p.m. to 7 a.m., every month can save 84 hryvnia. Consequently, dual-zone meter will pay for itself in about a year and a half. Moreover, if we spend “the night tariff” more than 25% of the light, the payback period two-zone counter will be reduced.

In addition to light: what and why can rise in 2017

The electricity tariff covers only 21.3% of its value, explained in NKREKU. Industrial enterprises pay extra for the population and kompensirovat additional expenses due to the final prices on their products. Last year the national Commission has decided to raise the tariff for Ukrainians to the level of costs.

Rate raise in five stages (resolution No. 220). For example, in the infographics you can see how varied the electricity tariffs with consumption of 100 to 600 kWh.

In addition, after the conductive light can rise and cold water. The tariff structure for water 34% electricity bills. Another 26% of the tariff wage, which also increased over the past year.

Experts in the field of energy sure also in 2017 should appreciate gas. the current rate includes the cost of imported gas – $ 185 per thousand cubic meters, and the budget for 2017 is provided that natural gas for Ukraine will rise to 245 dollars. As calculated ex-the head of Department on public relations of “Naftogaz” Valentin Zemlyansky, gas, according to the formula of the Cabinet, next year will cost 9600 hryvnia per thousand cubic meters (currently 6800 UAH). At the same time, the expert Yuri Korolchuk sure that the economically justified tariff for gas will grow next year at 25-60% (8.5-11 thousand UAH).

If the price of gas not to revise, economists say, the government will have to subsidize “Naftogaz”. In the Memorandum with the IMF (the document was signed by President Petro Poroshenko, Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman, etc.) Ukraine is committed to the end of 2017 to eliminate the deficit of “Naftogaz”. To achieve this without increasing the price of gas will not succeed.

From the cost of gas determines the tariffs for heating and hot water. If the government did take the decision to reconsider the gas tariff, you can also expect a rise in prices of hot water and heating.
