Special envoy of the US state Department in Ukraine Kurt Volker and assistant to the President of Russia Vladislav Surkov unable to meet in Minsk. This was announced on his page on Facebook Director of the Russian Center for political conjuncture Alexei Chesnakov.
“The meeting with Vladislav Surkov and Kurt Volker, most likely, will take place in Minsk”, – he wrote.
According to Chesnakov, “the date of the meeting can be agreed in the coming days”, while the U.S. side offered to meet in Vienna, and Russia – in Kaliningrad.

“Minsk would be convenient for both parties the point of the meeting. For the Russian delegation it is a good compromise – the territory of the Union state of Russia and Belarus, and the Kaliningrad neighborhood. For Americans, too small concession – I only have to fly for an hour and a half longer,” – said Chesnakov.
Earlier, the Russian foreign Minister, Lavrov said that he had received assurances from U.S. Secretary Rex Tillerson that Walker will come to Russia to speak with Surkov on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
