Russia and Turkey are carefully investigating the incident in which the Russian missile was fired on a Turkish military in Syria, according to the General staff of the Turkish army.
“On 9 February at 08:40 during operation in air strikes on targets “Islamic state”, the incident occurred, in which Russian bomb fell at the location of the Turkish military. As a result, 11 Turkish soldiers were wounded and three people were killed,” – said in a statement posted on the website of the Turkish General staff.
“The investigation is conducted by both parties”, – stated in the message.
The statement stressed that, “according to the Russian side, said the incident was an accident, they (the Russian side) expressing their grief and condolences in this regard. In addition, your condolences expressed by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan,” – said in the message.
Earlier it was reported that Putin discussed with Erdogan, the Russian VKS airstrike by the Turkish military in Syria.
